# What is a support animal or an emotional support animal?

Support animals, service animals, and ESAs provide support to individuals with health conditions. ESAs and service animals are an exception to all pet fees. Under the Fair Housing Act, landlords are responsible for making reasonable accommodations even if there is a “no pet” policy.
