# Why Do Nomad Photos Have Watermarks?

#### Purpose of Watermarks

Nomad applies watermarks to all professional photos taken of your property for several important reasons:

1. **Fraud Prevention** : Watermarks help prevent unauthorized use of property images by scammers who might otherwise steal photos to create fraudulent rental listings.
2. **Protection Against Stolen Postings** : The watermark ensures that your property photos cannot be easily copied and used by other individuals or companies without permission.

#### Important Information About Watermarks

- **Permanent Feature**: Watermarks cannot be removed from photos once applied when using on a Nomad listing.
- **Standard Practice**: All properties listed through Nomad receive watermarked photos as part of our standard service.
- **Post-Cancellation**: If you cancel Nomad services before tenant placement, any photos provided will still contain the watermark. If using the photos outside of Nomad's platform, the watermark must be removed.

Watermarking is one of many ways Nomad works to protect both property owners and potential renters from rental fraud, which, according to industry research, affects a significant portion of the rental market each year.
