Nomad's application is hosted by a third-party, Findigs. As such, we have limited visibility into the application system and are limited in our ability to troubleshoot. Here are some common questions that come up in the application process:
Q: How do I get help if I'm having trouble with my application?
A: There are a few different resources that we can offer to you if you are having difficulty with the Findigs application software:
- Review the Findigs application FAQ, provided by the Findigs team.
- Review the Findigs application walkthrough, provided by the Findigs team.
- Contact Findigs support. You can email the Findigs team directly at support@findigs.com or you can chat with their team within your application by clicking "Get Support" in the upper right hand corner.
Q: The Findigs application is crashing for me.
A: Try these trouble shooting steps if you are having trouble with the application:
1. Try logging out and logging back into your account
2. Clear cache and cookies in your browser (https://findigs.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4409981946523-How-to-clear-cache-cookies)
3. Try another browser to continue your application (e.g. Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Chrome, etc.)
4. Try switching to another device, computer, or phone
5. Make sure that your application wasn't logged in on another device
Q: Do I need to link a bank account or payroll provider?
A: It is not a requirement that you link a bank account or payroll provider to proceed. Nomad does require that we are able to verify your income in order to issue an eligibility decision. You can bypass linking a bank account or payroll provider by uploading pdf documents like pay stubs or a bank account. Verification of income may take longer using the pdf upload function.
If you are experiencing issues uploading a pdf, you can upload any pdf document and we will request documentation from you directly after we receive your application.
*PDF document uploads must contain all necessary information to validate monthly income. This includes payee name, payor name, and gross/net income amount. Documents will also be reviewed for validity. Preferred document submission types are paystubs, bank statements, and offer letters (tax returns may be acceptable based on filing date).
Q: Why does Nomad require a photo of my ID and a selfie?
A: Findigs uses Footprint to verify identity. This is crucial as rental and identity fraud are on the rise. Findigs requires that you verify your address, SSN, scan the front and back of your ID, and provide a selfie. This is done intentionally to verify that the person uploading this information is actually that person, and not someone else. The barcode on the back of the ID is run against a national database and has been very effective at catching fraud.
Q: What forms of ID are accepted?
A: Any government issued ID is acceptable for tenant screening. This includes Drivers License, Passport, State ID card, and Military ID.
Q: Does every adult need to fill out an application?
A: Yes, every adult who will be living in the home needs to complete an application so we can verify ID, income, credit, and background. Children do not need to complete applications.
Q: Do I need to provide my vehicle information?
A: No, Nomad is not concerned with your vehicle. Either put in you have no vehicles, or enter dummy information to bypass this step.
Q: What is the application fee?
A: In most locations, the application fee is $40. Some locations require different application fees by law. Application fees may vary depending on your location's requirements.
Q: How long does it take to screen an application?
A: Application processing time can vary depending on various factors, such as the completeness of the initial application, the volume of applications being processed, and the promptness of the applicant in providing any additional required information or documentation. In many cases, applications can be processed on the same day if all necessary information is provided promptly. Applications typically take 1-3 business days to determine eligibility.
Q: How can I add a cosigner/guarantor to my application?
A: In your Findigs portal, click on the view details button which is located on the home page. From there, you can select the 'Add a guarantor' button (example below) which will prompt you to invite your cosigner/guarantor.
