What Documents Does the Adjuster Need for My Claim?
When TERN Financial Group or their adjuster contacts you about your claim, they will typically request documentation to support the coverage determination. Providing complete documentation up front speeds the process.
Standard documents requested
Photos of the damage: clear photos showing the extent of the damage, taken as soon as the damage was discovered. Multiple angles are helpful.
Repair estimates: written estimates from licensed contractors or repair professionals. At least one estimate is required; two or more estimates help support the claimed amount.
Receipts or invoices: if repairs have already been completed, provide the paid invoices. For damaged personal property, original purchase receipts or comparable current pricing help establish value.
Itemized inventory: a written list of damaged items with estimated values. The more specific, the better.
Move-in and move-out inspection reports: these help establish the condition of the property before and after the rental period.
The adjuster typically needs photos of the damage, written repair estimates from licensed contractors, receipts or invoices for completed repairs, an itemized inventory of damaged items, and move-in and move-out inspection reports showing the condition of the property before and after the rental period.
How to submit documents
TERN's adjuster will provide instructions for submitting documents when they contact you. Common methods include email and secure file upload. Do not send documents to Nomad unless we have specifically asked you to.
What if I do not have all the documents?
Submit what you have. The adjuster can advise on acceptable alternatives if a specific document is unavailable. Do not delay submitting the rest of your documentation while waiting for one item.
Important: prompt notice and cooperation
The policy requires that you give prompt notice of loss and cooperate with the carrier's investigation. Delays in providing requested documents can affect the timeline and outcome of your claim.
